The autumn 2007 Graduate Trainee intake will join the Scheme on 28 August 2007. The Trainees’ first day will be spent at the Met Police premises at Empress State and will be an induction to the Scheme. Some of the areas that Trainees will learn more about include:

• The roles and responsibilities of the Scheme’s participants; Line Managers, Mentors, Coordinating Committee, Board and the Trainees themselves
• The terms and conditions of employment on the Scheme
• CIPFA studies – the timetable and the need for personal study routines
• Other activities and events Trainees will participate in
• Placements and project work
• The Scheme Competency Framework
• Performance Appraisal
• Frontline service experiences
• Trainee Group meetings
• Employment opportunities.

The day will cover everything that Trainees need to know to begin their initial placement and study programme. It will provide another opportunity for Trainees to get to know each other better before placements and studies commence.
